Thanks for reporting to symantec so quickly! I suggest Norton had better send us an apology and tell us when to apply the new update as this service is truly woeful. We are going to disable the copy profile in mdt and verify it fixes the problem for us as well. If you have been logged in, just delete the user profile and create a new one with this modification...
Could someone from Microsoft take a look at how we could correct this issue without having to rebuild our imaging processes? Turn Off Enhanced Protected Mode IE 11 in Windows 7 and Windows 8 comes with a feature called Enhanced Protected Mode enabled by default. IE 11 is compatible and you should see a series of green check marks indicating this. If you go back and click on Tools again, you'll see that it will have a check next to it, which means it is now enabled.

The new IPS definition set which fixed the problem was released about 6 hours later. a clean install in not out of the question. Actually, it's mostly related to IE 11 because I've had several clients complain about the browser crashing on Windows 7 also. After that IE11 stopped working. same problem IE has been off since About 4pm, it's got something to do with IPSEng32.dll in norton,no idea what I'm talking about. Oh, wait, you can't get to the internet. Sorry, just uninstall Norton. Then you can download Chrome. Chrome and Edge work fine, it's only IE11.
I will evaluate a way to automate this via script or Task Sequence step hopefully today.
IE11 Internet Zone: Protected Mode Off/Flash Enabled/Shockwave Enabled - All sites work fine. But to be honest... This will work with protection mode turned on. The next step is to push out this .reg fix to all users probably with Powershell. As soon as I disable Protected Mode, all sites start working.
Protected Mode in Windows 7 IE11 worked fine. The update is out at least a day and a 1/2 ago.
